About Umrah Badal
Umrah Badal (performing Umrah on behalf of another person) is a recognised practice in classical Islamic scholarship. It is most commonly arranged for a deceased parent, for a living parent or relative who is physically unable to travel, or as part of family remembrance for a loved one. The scholarly conditions around when Umrah Badal is appropriate vary by school of thought. If you are unsure whether it applies to your situation, please consult a trusted scholar before ordering.
How an Umrah Badal order works
You place the order and add the name(s) the Umrah should be performed on behalf of in the order notes or at checkout. If the Umrah is for a deceased person, please note that clearly so the intention is recorded correctly. We coordinate with our performer in Makkah and confirm a realistic timing window. After completion you receive a short video clip and a written confirmation.
One Umrah, one intention
Each Umrah corresponds to one intention. If you want to dedicate Umrah on behalf of more than one person (for example both parents), we recommend separate orders so each Umrah carries a single, clear intention.
